Men's Soccer Season Comes to a Close with Loss to Delaware

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 2018 season came to a close on Tuesday afternoon for the Northampton men's soccer team, as they fell to Delaware County Community College, 6-2, at Spartan Field.

The Spartans put up a good fight in the first half, trailing only 3-2 at intermission as Andrew Tinna (Tunkhannock, PA/Tunkhannock Area) rocketed home a direct kick with under a minute to play to cut the margin to one. 

Matthew Doyle-Sochan (East Stroudsburg, PA/Duncan U. Fletcher High (FL)) got the Spartans on board, off an assist from Andrew Seymour (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth), after the Phantoms had jumped out to a 2-0 lead. 

The second half was all Delaware as they scored 3 goals to pull away and earn the 6-2 victory. 

William Winters (Albrightsville, PA/Pocono Mt. West) was credited with 10 saves for the Spartans. 

Andrew Tinna (Tunkhannock, PA/Tunkhannock Area) finishes his career with 34 goals, good for 4th all-time at Northampton.

Northampton finishes the season with a record of 4-9-0 overall, 4-8-0 in Region XIX and 4-6 in the EPAC.
