BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 2018 season came to a close on Tuesday afternoon for the Northampton men's soccer team, as they fell to Delaware County Community College, 6-2, at Spartan Field.
The Spartans put up a good fight in the first half, trailing only 3-2 at intermission as
Andrew Tinna (Tunkhannock, PA/Tunkhannock Area) rocketed home a direct kick with under a minute to play to cut the margin to one.Â
Matthew Doyle-Sochan (East Stroudsburg, PA/Duncan U. Fletcher High (FL))Â got the Spartans on board, off an assist from
Andrew Seymour (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth), after the Phantoms had jumped out to a 2-0 lead.Â
The second half was all Delaware as they scored 3 goals to pull away and earn the 6-2 victory.Â
William Winters (Albrightsville, PA/Pocono Mt. West) was credited with 10 saves for the Spartans.Â
Andrew Tinna (Tunkhannock, PA/Tunkhannock Area) finishes his career with 34 goals, good for 4th all-time at Northampton.
