BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team advanced to the Region XIX Championship match next weekend with a 3-0 victory over 9th seeded Rowan College @ Gloucester County on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Roadrunners advanced to the second round matchup with a 3-0 defeat of 8th ranked Lehigh Carbon Community College, earlier in the day at Northamtpon.
Abby Orth (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) led the Spartans with 12 kills and 9 aces, while
Bridget Crimi (Nazareth, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond ) added 9 kills and 5 digs.
The Spartans, who have won 98 consecutive Region XIX Division III matches, will be playing in their 7th consecutive Region XIX championship match.
Madelyn Deloglos (Northampton, PA/Northampton ) recorded 9 kills,
Sarah DiGrazia (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) added 4 kills,
Samantha Hatfield (Saylorsburg, PA/Pleasant Valley) notched 12 digs, as did
Caisey Kroschwitz (Bath, PA /Bethlehem Catholic), while
Savanna Jordan (Bath, PA /Bethlehem Catholic) had 31 assists.
The #1 ranked Spartans, now 14-5 overall, will play in the Region 19A bracket championship match on October 27th at Bucks County Community College vs. #4 seed Ocean County College. The match is scheduled to begin at 12pm.
RCGC finishes the season 9-10 overall.
