BETHLEHEM, Pa. - On day where the temperature hovered near 90 degrees, the Northampton bats were just as hot, knocking out 33 hits in a sweep of Bucks County Community College at Spartan Field.
GAME ONE - WON 27-3
Bucks County opened the scoring in the top of the 1st with a 2-run homerun, but the Spartans responded with 16 unanswered runs over the next 3 innings to take a comfortable 16-1 lead and cruise to the 27-3 victory.Â
Drew Jackson (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) earned the win on the mound with 5 innings of work, allowing 2 runs on 2 hits with 4 walks and 8 strikeouts.Â
Trevor McGee (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) finished the final 2 innings, allowing 1 run on no hits while fanning 3.Â
Andrew Corso (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield)Â led a 22-hit barrage with a 5 for 5 effort that included 2 doubles and 3 RBI.

Tommy Dunleavy (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg North) led the charge in game two, finishing 3 for 4 with a double, homerun and 4 RBI, while Melko continued his assault with a 2 for 3 effort and 2 more RBI.Â
