MEDIA, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer team suffered a disappointing loss on Thursday afternoon at Delaware County, falling 6-1 to the Phantoms.
Andrew Tinna (Tunkhannock, PA/Tunkhannock Area) scored Northampton's only goal of the game, giving him 11 for the season, and
William Winters (Albrightsville, PA/Pocono Mt. West) made 10 saves in goal to lead the Spartans.
"The field was definitely a factor," commented Head Coach
Mario Barrantes, "but, saying that, it was the same for both teams, they simply adapted to the muddy conditions better than we did."
The loss drops Northampton to 3-6-0 overall, 3-5-0 in the Region and 3-3-0 in the EPAC.
Delaware improves to 3-2-2 overall, 3-2-0 in the Region and 3-1-0 in the EPAC.
The Spartans host nationally-ranked Brookdale on Saturday at noon.
