HARRISBURG, Pa. - The Northampton men's soccer team finished off the regular season with a convincing 5-1 victory over Harrisburg Area Community College on Saturday afternoon at Hawk Stadium.
The Spartans were led by
Stivan Kumbarov (Wind Gap, PA /Pen Argyl) and
Taylor Harbaugh (Exeter, PA /Exeter ) each with two goals, while
Jean-Claude Pabulo (Allentown, PA/William Allen ) added a goal and an assist.
Cody Graci (Henryville, PA /Pocono Mt. West ) and
Victor Bardales (Easton, PA /Easton ) each registered an assist and
Mehmed Letifov (Wind Gap, PA /Pen Argyl) added 2 assists, giving him 14 on the season.Â
"We took control of the game early and controlled the majority of possession," commented Head Coach
Mario Barrantes, "we were able to play from side to side and our defense was aggressive and played well as a unit."
Kumbarov's 2 goals give him 22 for the season, which is tied for 2nd in the NJCAA and ranks as the 5th most in a single season in program history.Â
The Spartans finish the regular season 11-6-0 overall, 10-5-0 in Region XIX and 9-3-0 in the EPAC.Â
Harrisburg falls to 4-11-0 overall, 3-9-0 in Region XIX and 3-9-0 in conference play.Â
The Spartans will now wait to find out their seed and opponent for the upcoming Region XIX Tournament, which kicks off on Saturday October 26th.Â
