BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Kelsey Miller (Phillipsburg, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) scored a game-high 25 points to help lead the Northampton women's basketball team to a 72-46 victory over Lehigh Carbon Community College on Tuesday evening at the Spartan Center.
The Spartans, who only led 32-29 at halftime, outscored the Cougars 40 to 17 in the second half. "I thought we did a good job of ramping up our intensity in the second half," commented Head Coach
Alyssa Bonenberger, "especially on the defensive end, holding them to 16% from the field."
Miller connected on 7 three-pointers, as the Spartans finished with 11 three-point field goals as team.
Ashley Robinson (East Stroudsburg, PA /East Stroudsburg South) added 20 points, while
Briana Petersen (East Stroudsburg, PA /East Stroudsburg North ) finished with 11 points and 20 rebounds.
Briona McClain (Stroudsburg, PA /Pocono Mt. West ) hauled down 12 rebounds, as the Spartans out-rebounded the Cougars, 65 to 58.
The win moves Northampton to 4-3 overall, while LCCC falls to 2-2.
The Spartans are now off until December 3rd when they host the Community College of Philadelphia at 5pm.
