BLACKWOOD, NJ - Sophomore
Noah Weber (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) fired a complete game no-hitter to lead the Northampton Baseball team to a 10-1 victory over Camden County College on Thursday afternoon at Cougar Field at Camden Yards.
Weber, who improved to 4-0 on the season, went the full 9 innings, allowing no hits and no runs while striking out 6 and walking none.
The Spartans, who are ranked 7th in the latest NJCAA poll, led 4-1 entering the 8th inning, when they tacked on 6 runs to put the game out of reach.
Tommy Dunleavy (Bushkill, PA/East Stroudsburg North) and
Brandon Ernst (Limerick, PA/Spring-Ford) each had 2-run singles, followed by back-to-back solo homeruns by
Chris Smith (Reading, PA/Exeter) and
Derek Stento (New Milford, PA/Blue Ridge) to highlight the 6-run inning.
Dunleavy finished 3 for 5 with 4 RBI, while Ernst was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI.
CJ Peechatka (Henryville, PA/Pocono Mountain East) went 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI, while
Corey Stouffer (Souderton, PA/North Penn) was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
The victory moves Northampton to 15-2 overall and 2-0 in Region XIX.
Camden, which received votes in the latest NJCAA poll, drops to 13-4.
The Spartans are back in action on Saturday with a non-league doubleheader, when they host the Hornets of Broome Community College starting at noon.
