BETHLEHEM, Pa. -
Noah Weber (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) improved to 7-0 on the season, throwing a complete game 6-hitter in a 12-1 victory over Lehigh Carbon Community College on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Park.
Tyler Horvath (Mt. Pocono, PA/Pocono Mountain East) got the Spartans on the board early with a 2-run single in the bottom of the 2nd and
Chris Smith (Reading, PA/Exeter) followed with a 2-run single of his own as Northampton plated 4 runs, giving Weber all the support he would need.
Horvath, who finished 3 for 3 with 4 RBI, tacked on a solo homerun in the bottom of the 5th.
Corey Stouffer (Souderton, PA/North Penn) was 2 for 4 with a triple and a stolen base,
CJ Gantz (Moore Township, PA/Northampton ) added 2 hits and
Chris Smith (Reading, PA/Exeter) was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI.
Weber, who improved to 14-4 during his career at Northampton, finished with 7 innings pitched, 1 run (earned), 6 hits allowed, no walks and 4 strikeouts.
The win was the 30th of the year for the Spartans, giving them three consecutive 30 win seasons and their fourth under Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez.
The Spartans, now 30-6, are scheduled to host Valley Forge Military Academy in a doubleheader at noon on Sunday.
Lehigh Carbon falls to 15-14 overall with the loss and 0-15 all-time vs. Northampton.
