ROCHESTER, NY - The Northampton Baseball team split a doubleheader on Saturday at Monroe Community College (NY), taking game one 7-2 and dropping the nightcap 8-4. 

GAME ONE - WON 7-2
Alex Super (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) pitched a complete game 3-hitter, holding the Tribunes to 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking none. 

CJ Peechatka (Henryville, PA/Pocono Mountain East) was 1-2 with his team-leading 7th homerun of the season and 3 RBI.

Chris Smith (Reading, PA/Exeter) finished 2 for 3 with a double, triple and 3 RBI.

GAME TWO - LOST 8-4
CJ Gantz (Moore Township, PA/Northampton ) paced the offense with a 3 for 4 performance, including a double and 2 RBI, while CJ Peechatka (Henryville, PA/Pocono Mountain East) was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, a double and a triple. 

Colton Langworthy (Alpha, NJ/Phillipsburg (NJ)) took the loss, falling to 2-2 on the season, allowing 5 runs (4 earned) in 5.1 innings of work. 

The split puts 4th ranked Northampton at 19-4 overall.

The Spartans and the Tribunes will square off again on Sunday, with a twinbill scheduled for 11:00am.
