BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Freshman goalkeeper
Nick Mazzella (Bangor, PA /Bangor ) made 10 saves to earn his first collegiate shutout as the Northampton men's soccer team downed Harrisburg Area Community College, 3-0, on Thursday afternoon for their 4th consecutive victory.
Kerr Wilson (Easton, PA /Easton ) got the Spartans on the board 22 minutes in the game, off of a feed from
Mehmed Letifov (Wind Gap, PA /Pen Argyl) to give Northampton the early 1-0 advantage.
The game remained 1-0 until 12 minutes remaining in the game when Letifov got pulled down in the box and converted the ensuing penalty kick for a 2-0 Spartan lead.
Stivan Kumbarov (Wind Gap, PA /Pen Argyl) added an insurance goal 2 minutes later, with the assist to Letifov, to make the final 3-0.
Harrisburg outshot the Spartans, 17-15, with Mazzella coming up big several times to preserve the shutout.

Mario Barrantes, "but we were able to overcome our shortcomings and pull out the victory."
Northampton improves to 5-2-0 overall with the win, and is now 4-2-0 in Region XIX and 4-1-0 in the EPAC.
Harrisburg falls to 1-3-0 with the loss.
The Spartans return to the pitch on Sunday when they travel to NJCAA Division I member Lackawanna College.
