BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 14th ranked Northampton women's basketball team moved to 5-1 overall with a 75-46 victory over Montgomery County Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The Spartans jumped out to an early 18-7 lead after the 1st quarter and never looked back, holding the Mustangs to 26.6% shooting from the field while knocking down 41% of their field goal attempts. Northampton forced Montgomery into 24 turnovers and limited them to just 12 free throw attempts.
Deovion Yates (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) led four Spartans in double figures with 18 points, while
Alayna Day (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) added 17,
Xion Spence (Bushkill, PA/E. Stroudsburg North) 13 and
Aslyn Toledo Rivera (Allentown, PA/William Allen) 10.
Northampton out-rebounded the Mustangs 46-33, with Spence leading the efforts off the boards with 14 rebounds. Toledo Rivera dished out 3 assists and added 7 rebounds.

The victory pushes Northampton to 5-1 overall, 3-0 in Region 19 and 2-0 in the EPAC.
Montgomery falls to 1-6 overall, 1-5 in the Region and 0-2 in conference play.
Beyonce Collins led Montgomery with 26 points.
The Spartans are back in action on Tuesday night when they travel to Dallas, PA to face the Misericordia JV at 5pm.
