DALLAS, Pa. - The 12th ranked Northampton women's basketball dropped a non-conference matchup on Tuesday evening, falling to the Misericordia JV, 72-50.
The 3rd quarter spelled doom for the Spartans, as they were outscored 29-10, after trailing by only 1 point at halftime, 28-27.
"We struggled to get going tonight and left a lot of points on the foul line against a really disciplined basketball team," lamented Head Coach
Terrence Bomar, "I hope this experience helped show our girls what it takes to play at the next level. Time to dust ourselves off, take a short break, and get back to work next week to get ready for our next opponent."
Briona McClain (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mt. West ) led the Spartans with 21 points and 18 rebounds and
Alayna Day (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) added 11.
The loss drops Northampton to 5-2 overall.
The Spartans return to action after the Thanksgiving Holiday on Tuesday November 30th with a trip to Philadelphia to face the Lions at 5pm.
