TOMS RIVER, NJ - The Northampton women's basketball team returned to the win column on Saturday afternoon, downing Ocean County College, 70-19, at the Health and Human Performance Center on the OCC Campus.
Madison Kluska (Bangor, PA/Bangor) led 3 Spartans in double figures with 15, followed by
Aslyn Toledo Rivera (Allentown, PA/William Allen) with 14 and
Yonique Reynolds (Easton, PA/Wilson) with 10.
The Spartans sprinted out to an 18-2 lead after the 1st quarter and never looked back, holding the Vikings under double-digits in each quarter.
Genesis Martinez (Reading, PA/Muhlenburg) led the Spartans on the boards with 8, followed by Kluska with 7 and Toledo Rivera with 6. Kluska added 4 assists and 4 steals, as Northampton totaled 16 thefts on the day.
"We were able to get a ton of production from our bench today," stated Head Coach
Terrence Bomar, "I am very proud of the ladies who were able to step in and help us win today."
The win moves Northampton to 6-4 overall, while Ocean falls to 1-4.
The Spartans are back on in action on Tuesday evening when they host GSAC member Camden County College at 5pm, in their final game of the semester.
