BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball overcame a 14-point 2nd quarter deficit to defeat Central Penn College, 75-64, on Tuesday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Tied at 54 entering the 4th quarter, the Spartans outscored the Knights 21-10 in the final stanza. Northampton limited Central Penn to just 3 of 13 from the field in the final 10 minutes to pull away for the victory.Â
Bryanna Rivera (Reading, PA/Greenfield (MA)) led the Spartans with 23 points, including a 4 for 4 effort from distance.Â
Deovion Yates (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) added 13,
Anajah Hines (Plainfield, NJ/Corinth Holders (NC)) 11,
Alayna Day (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg) 10 and
Briona McClain (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mt. West ) 10 as Northampton put five players in double figures.Â

Terrence Bomar, "we definitely got off to a slow start, but the team stay focused and earned a good win."
Briona McClain (Tobyhanna, PA/Pocono Mt. West ) grabbed 19 rebounds to give her 531 for her career, breaking the record of 528 held by Halie Cintron (2010-12).
Anajah Hines (Plainfield, NJ/Corinth Holders (NC)) added 13 rebounds as the Spartans controlled the boards 48-39.Â
The win moves Northampton to 13-5 overall, while Central Penn falls to 5-8.
The Spartans return home on Thursday to host 3rd ranked RCSJ-Gloucester at 5pm.
