MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Northampton baseball team picked up two wins on Tuesday, downing Danville Area Community College 4-0 and Penn St. Dubois 9-6, to improve to 4-2 overall.
Game One vs. DANVILLE AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE (Won 4-0)
Despite only getting 5 hits, the Spartans rode the arm of
Ryan Gordon (New Cumberland, PA/Red Land) to a 4-0 victory over NJCAA Division II Danville Area Community College in game one on Tuesday.
Gordon threw a complete game shutout, allowing only 1 hit, while striking out 9 and walking 2.
Max Rivas (Toms River, NJ/Toms River - South (NJ)) led the offense with a 1 for 3 performance with 2 RBI and a run scored, while
Ryan Santangelo (Oxford, PA/Oxford Area) added a triple.
Game Two vs. PENN ST. DUBOIS (Won 9-6)
Isaiah Lockette (Steelton, PA/Steelton-Highspire) was 4 for 4 and
Garrett Garofalo (Willow Grove, PA/Upper Moreland) went 3 for 3 with 4 RBI to lead the Spartan offense to a 9-6 victory in game two.
Tyler Sharayko (Gilbertsville, PA/Boyertown Area) earned the win, going 4 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits.
Max Pomponi (Norwalk, CT/Brien McMahon (CT)) came on in relief, throwing 3 innings, allowing 3 runs, walking 4 and striking out 1.
Northampton returns to action on Wednesday when they are scheduled to face Rochester Technical & Community College at 9am and Noon.
