BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team picked up their second victory of the spring semester, downing NJCAA Division II member Raritan Valley Community College, 70-58, on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Kania Day (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) scored 21 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead the Spartans, while
Deovion Yates (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) recorded 6 steals and 4 assists, to go along with her 8 points and 5 rebounds.
Northampton held RVCC to 36% shooting from the floor and out-rebounded the Lions, 53 to 32.
"Our hard work in practice the last few days paid off today," echoed Head Coach
Terrence Bomar, "I am proud of our ability to grind through the last couple of days and focus on the task at hand."
The win moves Northampton to 8-5 overall, while RVCC falls to 6-11.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Lehigh Carbon Community College for a 5pm tilt vs. the Cougars.
