PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Northampton women's basketball team improved to 3-0 with a dominating 71-24 victory over the Community College of Philadelphia on Thursday evening at the Lions Den. The Spartans jumped out to a 43-9 halftime lead and cruised to the victory.
Xenia Gillis (Yeadon, PA/Penn Wood) led Northampton with 20 points and 8 rebounds, while
Kania Day (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) added 16 and
Zoe Cruz (Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mt. East) had 14, including a 4 for 6 performance from behind the arc.
"We did a good executing our offense tonight," stated Head Coach
Terrence Bomar, "I'm happy with our patience tonight running our sets, I thought we did a good job making the extra pass and getting some quality shots."
The Spartans return to the hardwood on Saturday when they travel to Paterson, NJ to face Passaic County Community College at noon.
