BETHLEHEM, Pa. - In a battle of Region 19 unbeatens, the 8th ranked Northampton women's basketball team downed Montgomery County Community College, 66-52 on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center, improving to 5-0 in Region 19.
Kania Day (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) scored 24 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and had 6 blocked shots, while
Kamauri Gordon-Bey (Red Lion, PA/Red Lion) added 14 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans.
Northampton dominated the backboards, out-rebounding the Mustangs 59-43 and holding them to just 30% shooting from the field.Â

Anisha Sepulveda (Lancaster, PA/McCaskey) scored 11 points and
Zoe Cruz (Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mt. East) dished out 6 assists for Northampton.Â
Northampton heads to semester break at 9-1 overall, 5-0 in Region 19 and 2-0 in the EPAC.
Montgomery falls to 4-2 overall, 3-1 in Region and 2-1 in conference play.
The Spartans are now off until January 9th when they are scheduled to host the Community College of Philadelphia at 5pm.Â
