BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team remained unbeaten on the season, defeating Ocean County College, 74-60, on Saturday afternoon at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Anisha Sepulveda (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) scored 27 points, dished out 8 assists and recorded 7 steals as the Spartans picked up their 2nd Region 19 win of the season.
Northampton jumped out to a 41-28 halftime advantage and extended that lead to 21 by the end of the 3rd quarter, before settling for the 14 point victory over the Vikings.
Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen) added 20 points, while
Heaven Dubois (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) recorded another double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds and also had 6 blocked shots.
"I can't say enough about this group," remarked Head Coach
Carly Gallagher, "they continue to fight, despite having just 6 healthy bodies right now. They are really playing hard on both ends of the court."
Imaani Mata (Bethlehem, PA/Lehigh Valley Academy) and
Elizabeth Trethaway (Crosby, TX/Crosby) each added 8 points for the Spartans.
Northampton improves to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 19.
Ocean falls to 1-3 overall and 1-3 in the Region.
The Spartans travel to Vineland, NJ on Tuesday November 19th to face RCSJ-Cumberland at 5pm.
