BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team closed out the first semester with an 88-47 loss to Montgomery County Community College on Saturday afternoon at the Health Sciences Center on the MCCC campus.
The Mustangs jumped out to a commanding 46-19 lead and never looked back in downing the Spartans.
"We never got on track today," lamented Head Coach
Carly Gallagher, "we struggled in all phases of the game and simply were not able to compete at the level we had been playing at this semester."
Anisha Sepulveda (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) had 18 points and 6 assists,
Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen) scored 13,
Raquel Costache (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg North) added 12 and
Samuella Volcy (Long Island, NY/Sachem North) grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds.
The Spartans, who have dropped three straight, fall to 9-4 overall, 7-3 in Region 19 and 0-1 in the EPAC.
Montgomery improves to 10-2 overall, 9-2 in the Region and 3-0 in conference play.
The Spartans are now off until January 9th when they host Lehigh Carbon Community College.
