BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 8th ranked Northampton women's basketball team dropped a non-conference tilt vs. Division II Lackawanna College, 104-84, on Thursday evening at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
The undermanned Spartans, playing with just six players in uniform, shot 46% from the floor, but allowed the Falcons to convert 52% of their attempts, in the high-scoring affair.
Kania Day (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg South) tallied a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while
Zoe Cruz (Stroudsburg, PA/Pocono Mt. East) finished with a season-high 32, including six 3-pointers.
"Lackawanna sped us up, and that pace was not good for us tonight given our roster shortcomings," stated Head Coach
Terrence Bomar, "we were able to get some good looks on the offensive end, but defensively we were simply not aggressive enough."
The loss drops Northampton to 13-6 overall, while Lackawanna improves to 9-11.
The Spartans are scheduled to finish the regular season on Tuesday when they host crosstown rival Lehigh Carbon Community College at 5pm.
