BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 7th ranked Northampton softball team dropped a Region 19 doubleheader to Middlesex College on Saturday afternoon at Spartan Field, falling 7-3 in game one and 9-1 in game two.
GAME ONE - Lost 7-3
Hannah Karc (Wind Gap, PA/Nazareth),
Chelsea Melkowits (Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacey Township) and
Shana Gugliandolo (Allentown, PA/Parkland) each had 2 hits to lead the Spartans.
GAME TWO - Lost 9-1
Hannah Karc (Wind Gap, PA/Nazareth),
Shana Gugliandolo (Allentown, PA/Parkland) and
Jenna Geiger (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) each had a hit in game two.
The two losses drop Northampton to 15-11 overall and 9-3 in Region 19.
Middlesex, which received votes in the latest NJCAA poll, improves to 20-4 overall and 13-1 in the Region.
The Spartans are back in action on Sunday when they host Brookdale Community College in a twin-bill scheduled for 12pm.
