PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Northampton women's basketball team dropped a non-conference matchup to the Community College of Philadelphia on Tuesday evening, falling 66-55 to the Lions at the CCP Physical Education Center.
Northampton, which led 25-22 at halftime, was outscored 46-30 in the second half, as the Spartans only manged to shoot 28% from the field for the game.
"We never got on track tonight," commented Head Coach
Carly Gallagher, "even with the 3-point lead at halftime, we just weren't clicking. It was just one of those nights when the ball wouldn't go in, it's hard to win when you shoot under 30% from the field."
Anisha Sepulveda (Lancaster, PA/JP McCaskey) scored 16 points and had 10 assists, while
Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen) chipped in with 14 points and 7 rebounds.
The loss drops Northampton to 11-5 overall.
The Spartans stay on the road, with a trip to Blackwood, New Jersey to face the Cougars of Camden County College on Thursday evening at 5pm.
