TOMS RIVER, NJ - The Northampton Women's Basketball team rolled to a 105-31 victory over Region 19 opponent Ocean County College on Saturday afternoon at the Vikings HPEC Center.
The Spartans jumped out to an 18-9 lead after the first quarter and carried a 47-18 edge into half time. Leading 72-31 after the 3rd quarter the Spartans left no doubt the rest of the way, outscoring the Vikings 33-0 in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Freshman center
Nia Brown (Bethlehem, PA/Executive Charter) hit for a career high 30 points and 13 rebounds for her fourth double-double in just five games to lead the way for the Spartans. Sophomore
Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen) and Freshman
Joey-Madison Shaul (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) each recorded their own respective double-double, as Sweatte hit for 21 points and 13 assists with Shaul scoring 12 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Forward
Neoshe Perez (Bath, PA/Executive Charter) scored a season-high 14 points and
Bryasiah Martin (Allentown, PA/Easton) added 11 points off the bench in the win.

Carly Gallagher, "We got a nice effort from
Nia Brown (Bethlehem, PA/Executive Charter) and I felt we did a nice job overall as a group with some strong individual offensive efforts and team defense. We are excited to get home and get some games on our home floor coming up."
The Spartans improve to 3-2 overall and 3-2 in Region 19.
The Vikings fall to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in the Region.
The Spartans will be back on the floor on Tuesday, November 18th for their home opener as they host RCSJ-Cumberland at 5pm at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
