BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton Women's Basketball team, behind a season high 31 point effort from sophomore
Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen), defeated SUNY-Broome 80-35 in a non-conference match up on Thursday night at the Arthur L. Scott Center.
Sweatte, averaging 22.1 points per game, shot 13-19 from the floor and was 4-7 from beyond the arc to lead the Spartans offense. Freshman
Nia Brown (Bethlehem, PA/Executive Charter) scored 14 points while grabbing 5 rebounds with 3 blocks and
Neoshe Perez (Bath, PA/Executive Charter) scored 11 points and collected 6 boards. Forward
Joey-Madison Shaul (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) scored 7 points with 8 rebounds and
Zeriah Hinson (Sharon Hill, PA/Academy Park) contributed 7 points off the bench.

Carly Gallagher, "Felt we were solid with our flow and working the extra pass to get an even better look at the rim and was especially pleased with our defensive hustle."
The Spartans grabbed 34 rebounds and recorded 18 steals as a team, scoring 38 points off of turnovers, while also shooting 34-68 (50%) from the floor and 8-17 (47%) from the foul line.
Northampton improves to 5-2 overall.
The Spartans will now be off until Tuesday, December 2nd when they travel to Blackwood, NJ to take on Camden County College at 5pm at Joseph Papiano Gymnasium.
