PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Northampton Women's Basketball team dropped a road game on Tuesday evening, falling to the Community College of Philadelphia, 61-51, at the Lions Den.
The Spartans jumped out to a quick 15-11 lead after the first quarter and extended their lead to 29-26 at half-time. The Spartans were unable to close the gap the rest of the way and fell short in their final game of the Fall semester.
"This just wasn't our night," explained Spartans Head Coach
Carly Gallagher, "We had a hard time finding our rhythm and flow from the start and we just had too many turnovers. I think this break for the holidays will be good for us. We need to regroup and come back ready to go for the second half of the season."
Sophomore
Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen) led the Spartans with 27 points and 10 rebounds for her 4th double-double on the season. Freshman center
Nia Brown (Bethlehem, PA/Executive Charter) scored 9 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
