SEWELL, NJ - The RCSJ-Gloucester Roadrunners jumped out to a dominating 50-16 halftime lead and never looked back in downing the Northampton women's basketball team, 88-49, on Tuesday evening at the RAC.
Norlejsha Thomas (Bethehem, PA/Executive Charter) led the Spartans with 12 points, while
Layla Sweatte (Allentown, PA/William Allen) added 10.Â
Raquel Costache (East Stroudsburg, PA/East Stroudsburg North) finished with 8 points and team-leading 11 rebounds.Â
"Not much to say," remarked Head Coach
Carly Gallagher, "we got beat in all aspects of the game. We need to get better if we expect to compete down the stretch and in the postseason."
The loss drops Northampton to 13-9 overall and 10-7 in the Region.
RCSJ-Gloucester improves to 19-3 overall and 14-2 in Region play.
The Spartans are back in in New Jersey on Thursday as the travel to Paterson, to face Passaic County Community College at 5pm.
