BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The 8th ranked Northampton softball team picked up two wins on Saturday, sweeping a Region 19 doubleheader from Camden County College at Spartan Field.
GAME ONE - Won 15-1
Emma Kozy (Emmaus, PA/Emmaus) had a monster game for the Spartans in game one, picking up the win in the circle with a complete game 2-hitter, allowing just 1 run while striking out 5. Kozy also smashed 2 homeruns, finishing 3 for 4 with 5 RBI.
Jenna Geiger (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) went 4 for 4 with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored, while
Molly Devers (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) was 1 for 3 with a triple and 3 runs scored.
GAME TWO - Won 10-2
In game two,
Taylor Neumann (York, PA/York Suburban) got the win for the Spartans, going 2.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits with 3 walks and 1 strikeout.
Sydney Harper (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) came on in relief and threw the final 3.1 innings, allowing just 1 hit, no runs, while fanning 4.
Molly Devers (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) hit her 2nd triple of the day, finishing 2 for 3 with 3 RBI and
Maggie Pagotto (Lehighton, PA/Lehighton) laced a double, had 2 RBI and scored a run for Northampton.
The sweep moves Northampton to 7-2 overall and 7-2 in Region 19.
Camden falls to 6-9 overall and 4-6 in the Region.
The Spartans return to the diamond on Tuesday when they travel to Edison, New Jersey to face Middlesex College in a Region 19 doubleheader slated to begin at 3:30pm.
