BETHLEHEM, Pa - The Northampton softball team dropped both games of their Region 19 doubleheader on Saturday afternoon vs. 3rd ranked RCSJ-Gloucester, falling 23-1 in game one and 14-2 in game two.
GAME ONE - Lost 23-1
In game one, the 3rd ranked Roadrunners used a 14-run 4th inning to blow the game open and added 6 runs in the 5th to secure the 23-1 victory.Â
Five Spartans each add one hit, led by
Aniah Clavell's (Allentown, Pa/Dieruff High School) double.Â
Clavell took the loss in the circle, allowing 17 runs (8 earned) over 3.1 innings of work.Â
GAME TWO - Lost 14-2
The Spartans managed only 1 hit in game two, as the Roadrunners scored 4 in the 1st and coasted to the 14-2 victory.Â
Aniah Clavell (Allentown, Pa/Dieruff High School) had Northampton's only hit.
Emma Kozy (Emmaus, Pa/Emmaus) took the loss, allowing 14 runs (12 earned) over 5 innings, striking out 3.Â
The two losses drop Northampton to 10-6 overall and 10-6 in Region 19.
The Roadrunners improve to 20-4 overall and 15-1 in Region play.Â
Northampton returns to action on Tuesday, when they host the Dukes of RCSJ-Cumberland in a Region 19 doubleheader at 3:30pm.Â
