LINCROFT, NJ - The Northampton softball team dropped a late season doubleheader to #9 Brookdale Community College on Friday afternoon, falling in game one, 9-2, and a tough, 19-0, loss in game two, at the Jersey Blues Softball Complex.
GAME ONE - Lost 9-2
The Spartans fell behind early, trailing, 6-0, after three innings, and were unable to get things going, as the Jersey Blues cruised to the, 9-2, win. The Spartans were limited to just 4 hits in the loss.
Abymarie Colon (Easton, Pa/Wilson High School) was 2-4 with a double and an RBI and
Rylee Sampson (Easton, Pa/Pen Argyl High School) was 1-3 and knocked in a run for the Spartans.
Emma Kozy (Emmaus, Pa/Emmaus) was 1-4 with a double and a run scored.
GAME TWO - Lost 19-0
The Spartans only managed two hits in the tough, 19-0, loss in the nightcap.
Abymarie Colon (Easton, Pa/Wilson High School) was 1-2 with a double and
Maria Moore (Fogelsville, Pa/Parkland High School) was 1-2.
Northampton slips to 17-9 overall and 17-9 in Region 19.
Brookdale Community College improves to 32-12 overall and 26-2 in the Region.
The Spartans wrap up the regular season this Sunday when they travel to Sewell, NJ to take on #3 RCSJ-Gloucester in a Region 19 doubleheader at 12pm at the Roadrunners Softball Complex.
