Lincroft, NJ - Northampton Softball earned their second victory of 2009 over a nationally-ranked opponent, knocking off 7th ranked Brookdale Community College on Sunday. The Spartans were close to a sweep, but couldn't hold a 6-1 lead in the in the 6th inning, as the Jersey Blues tied the game in the 7th and sent it to extra innings. NCC plated a run in the top of the 8th, but Brookdale responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 8th to earn the victory.
Nicole Fleming went 4 for 5 and
Tiffany Kobordo was 3 for 3 in the loss.
In game two, the NCC offense exploded for 15 runs, including 8 in the final 2 innings to secure the vicctory, as the Spartans earned a 15-12 victory.

Katlyn Snyder drove in 4 runs.
Lindsay Frontino earned the victory in relief as NCC improved to 10-7 overall and 3-1 in Region XIX. The Sparans will host Cumberland Community College on Tuesday April 7th at 3:30pm
