EDISON, NJ -  The NCC softball team improved to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in Region XIX with a sweep of Middlesex County College on Sunday afternoon.

Casey Ord and Kate Check each went 3 for 4 with 2 runs scored and Carly Brawn was 2 for 3 to lead the Spartans to an 8-0 victory in game one.

Erin LaBar earned the victory, improving to 3-1 on the season.

In game two, pitcher Heather Compton threw a one-hitter  and Julianne Wildrick went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI to lead Northampton.

Megan Dougherty was 2 for 3 with a double, as the Spartans pounded out 22 hits in the doubleheader.

The Spartans will host Sussex County Community College on April 1st in a Region XIX doubleheader.
