Spartans Salvage Split with Titans

Lindsay Frontino improved to 8-1 with win in game two
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Spartan Softball team wasted a terrific pitching performance by Heather Compton in game one of their doubleheader on Tuesday with the County College of Morris, falling 2-1 in eight innings.

Compton allowed only four hits to NJCAA Division II CCM, but the Spartans could only manage a 6th inning single by Gina Falco.

In game two the bats came alive for NCC as the Spartans pounded out 11 hits in an 8-0 victory.

Falco was 2 for 4 with two runs and a RBI, Kate Check was 2 for 4 and Casey Ord added a double, 2 runs and 2 RBI in the victory.

Lindsay Frontino (8-1) allowed three hits, struck out one and walked one to earn the victory.

The Spartans, now 25-7 overall (17-3 in Region XIX), are off until the Region XIX playoffs.  Seeding for the Region XIX tournament will take place on April 29th, with the first round games slated for May 1st and 2nd at the higher seed, in a best 2 out of 3 format.
