BLUE BELL, Pa. - The NCC softball team improved to 14-4 overall and 9-1 in conference play with a doubleheader sweep of Montgomery County Community College (4-6) on Tuesday afternoon.

Ashley Venturino was 2 for 3 and Gina Falco smashed a double as the Spartans exploded for a 13-0 victory in game one.

Laura Bartek scored three runs and Monica Koch added two runs to back the pitching of Erin LaBar who earned the victory; striking out five, walking none and only allowing three hits.

The Spartans completed the sweep with an 8-1 victory in game two behind the pitching of Heather Compton and the hitting of Jennifer Denaro (2 for 4), Julianne Wildrick (2 for 4 with 2 RBI) and Laura Bartek (2 for 3).

Next for the Spartans is a rematch with Division II Mercer County College on April 8th at 3:00pm at NCC. The Spartans fell to Mercer 4-1 at the Snowbird Classic in Myrtle Beach, SC on March 15th.
