FORKS TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The NCC women's volleyball team opened the 2010 campaign with a 1-3 showing at the Lackawanna College Invitational this weekend.

The Spartans defeated Hostos Community College, but fell to the County College of Morris, Fashion Institute of Technology and Corning Community College.

The tournament format was altered due to schedule changes, thus each match was played to five games, no matter what the outcome.

"It was a learning weekend for us," replied Head Coach Missy Lynn, "I think we have made a couple of changes that will help us as we get ready for our conference schedule."

The Spartans begin Region XIX play on September 14th when they travel to the County College of Morris.
