TOMS RIVER, NJ - The NCC women's softball team opened the 2011 Region XIX conference schedule on Saturday, dropping two games at Ocean County College.

The Vikings, 7-0 in conference play, took game one 7-6, scoring 3 runs in the final inning to overcome a 6-4 Spartan lead.  Jackie Gates was 2 for 3 at the plate to lead NCC.

In game two, Ocean jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead before the Spartans battled back to have the winning run at the plate in the top of the 7th, before lining out to end the game, falling 8-6.  Gina Falco and Morgan Neel were each 2 for 4.

NCC, now 2-2 overall and 0-2 in Region XIX, travels to Camden County College on Sunday.
