LAPLATA, Md. - After going 1-2 on the first day of action, the NCC softball team went 1-1 on Sunday to finish in 4th place at the College of Southern Maryland Tournament.
The Spartans opened up Sunday with a 12-10 victory over CCBC-Catonsville as
Meghan Granite went 4 for 4 with 6 RBI, including a 3-run homerun.
Morgan Neel was 3 for 3 with a double and
Beth Ronalds finished 2 for 4 with 3 RBI.
Melanie Morekin (1-2) earned her first collegiate victory as the Spartans improved to 2-2 overall.
In game two, NCC fell to tournament champion Anne Arundel Community College (MD), 7-3. NCC led 3-2 in the 3rd inning after
Meghan Granite's 2-run single, but 4 unearned runs in the 5th inning cost the Spartans the game as they committed 3 errors.
NCC, 2-3 overall / 0-0 Region XIX, is now off until March 22nd when they host NJCAA Division II Lackawanna College.
