BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton softball team snapped their two game losing streak with a dominating 18-1, 21-0, sweep of Union County College on Monday afternoon.

Despite severe high winds, Spartan pitchers Mel Morekin and Julia Weber combined to only allow 6 hits on the day, with Morekin throwing a 4-hitter in game one and Weber a 2-hit shutout in game two.

Jaclyn Gates was 2 for 3 and Beth Ronalds 2 for 4 to lead the offense in game one.

Weber helped her own cause in game two, hitting her first collegiate homerun and finishing 4 for 5 at the plate.  Amber Hoppes and Beth Ronalds each went 2 for 2.

NCC improves to 14-9 overall and 8-2 in Region XIX.
