MEDIA, Pa. - The Northampton women's volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a three game sweep of Delaware County Community College in Region XIX action on Thursday evening.
The Spartans, coming off an impressive opening night tri-match victory, picked up where they left off, downing the Phantoms in three straight sets; 25-6, 25-14, 25-12.
Kelly Yagerhofer recorded 12 kills and 3 digs, while
Barbara Dimon added 7 kills and 2 digs and
Anna Domyan notched 4 aces, 6 kills and 7 digs for the Spartans.
Ashley McCauley had a team-high 24 assists as Northampton improved to 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.
"Another strong performance from the girls tonight," remarked Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, "being on the road for the first time, I was curious to see how the team would react to the crowd and the atmosphere, but it was not an issue at all ... these girls are very focused on what they are trying achieve."
Northampton returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Harrisburg Area Community College (3-0) for a battle of unbeatens. "Harrisburg was a perennial power in their old league before joining the NJCAA this season," commented Yaguez, "I expect them to be very strong."
