BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Northampton softball team ran their winning streak to three games with a doubleheader sweep of Montgomery County Community College on Thursday afternoon.
Shelby Belzecky was 3 for 4 with 4 runs scored and
Alyssa Maffia was 3 for 3 with 4 RBI as the Spartans took game one, 22-1.
Gabrielle Ruland earned the victory, striking out five.
In game two,
Stephanie Rusu pitched a 2-hit shutout as NCC prevailed 12-0.
Kristin Steiner was 2 for 2 with a homerun to pace Northampton.
NCC, which is 7-7 in Region XIX play, improves to 11-9 overall.
The Spartans return to action on Saturday when they host Atlantic Cape Community College in a doubleheader starting at noon.
