SCRANTON, Pa. - Kristin Steiner was 3 for 4 with 4 RBI and Jesi Cericola was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI as Northampton took game one of their non-conference doubleheader with Lackawanna College on Thursday afternoon, 14-6.

Melanie Hippenstiel earned the win and Shelby Belzecky added 3 hits for Northampton.

In game two, Northampton committed some untimely errors and made some costly base-running mistakes, as the Division II Falcons prevailed 5-2.  Karissa Frankenfield was 2 for 3, as the Spartans only managed 5 hits.

Northampton, now 17-11 overall (12-8 Region XIX), travels to Ocean County College on Sunday for a pivotal Region XIX doubleheader.

Lackawanna moves to 11-17 overall.
