CRANFORD, NJ - Northampton picked up two big wins on Saturday as they made their playoff push, downing Union County College 13-0 and 18-2.

Alyssa Maffia went 3 for 4 in game one to support Melanie Hippenstiel's 2-hitter as Northampton blanked the Owls.  Hailley Houck was 3 for 3 and Julianne LaBeur was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI.

In game two, Gabrielle Ruland picked up her 5th win of the season, as Jesi Cericola went 2 for 3 with 3 runs scored, Stephanie Rusu was 3 for 4, Kristin Steiner 2 for 3 with 4 runs scored and Shelby Belzecky knocked in 4 runs to lead Northampton.

The sweep pushed Northampton to 14-8 in Region XIX and 19-11 overall.  The Spartans trail Luzerne County College (15-7) by one game for the #4 spot in the upcoming Region XIX playoffs.

Northampton will travel to Toms River, NJ on Tuesday to face Ocean County College in a make-up doubleheader from Saturday's rain out.
