BETHLEHEM, Pa. - In a battle of unbeatens, the Northampton women's volleyball team laid early-season claim to the top spot in Region XIX with a convincing 25-13, 25-18, 25-15 win over previously undefeated Harrisburg Area Community College on Monday night at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center.
The 8th ranked Spartans made short work of the Hawks as
Emily Koehler (Northampton) notched 9 kills and
Barbara Dimon (Pine Grove) added 7 while
Samantha Bertasavage recorded 7 aces and 4 digs.
"The girls were excited for this match," commented Head Coach
Adrian Yaguez, "Harrisburg is well-coached and has some very solid players, but we came ready to play tonight and I'm very proud of how they responded."
The win propels Northampton to 9-0 overall (6-0 Region XIX), while Harrisburg falls to 8-1 overall (5-1 Region XIX).
The Spartans return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Bucks County Community College.
