LINCROFT, NJ - The Northampton softball team dropped a doubleheader to 6th ranked Brookdale Community College on Sunday, falling 16-4 in game one and 13-0 in game two.
In game one,
Bri Barr (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) was the star for Northampton in defeat, going 3 for 3 with a homerun and 2 RBI while
Kiley Kuchar (Bangor, PA/Bangor ) was 2 for 3 with a RBI as the Spartans totaled 8 hits. Â
MacKenzie Caffrey (Easton, PA/Pleasant Valley ) took the loss on the mound, allowing 15 earned runs, 17 hits, striking out 1 in 4 innings of work.Â
In game two, the Jersey Blues held Northampton to one hit (
Samantha Miller (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) 1 for 2) and won 13-0 in 5 innings. Â
Kiley Kuchar (Bangor, PA/Bangor ) allowed 9 hits and 7 earned runs in suffering the loss.
Northampton, which has now lost 5 straight games, falls to 7-9 in Region XIX and 9-13 overall while Brookdale improves to 16-2 in Region XIX and 25-9 overall.
The Spartans travel to Lackawanna College on April 22nd for an EPAC doubleheader set for 3:30pm.Â
