PARAMUS, NJ - The Northampton softball team saw their losing streak extend to 7 games, dropping a doubleheader to Bergen Community College on Thursday afternoon, eliminating the Spartans from playoff contention.
In game one
MacKenzie Caffrey (Easton, PA/Pleasant Valley ) allowed 6 hits and struck out 1 as Bergen prevailed 9-1. Â Caffrey and
Rachel Bard (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) had Northampton's only hits.
In game two, the Spartans fell 11-3, as Caffrey finished 2 for 3 with 2 RBI,
Bri Barr (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) was 2 for 3 and
Kiley Kuchar (Bangor, PA/Bangor ),
Amber Farnholtz (Northampton, PA /Northampton ) and
Samantha Miller (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) each had hits for Northampton.Â
Northampton falls to 9-15 overall and 5-11 in Region XIX, while Bergen improves to 10-6 overall and 8-6 in Region XIX.
Northampton closes out the regular season on Saturday when they travel to Toms Rivers, NJ to face Ocean County College.Â
