TOMS RIVER, NJ - The 2015 campaign came to end on Saturday for the Northampton Softball team, as they closed out the season with a doubleheader loss at Ocean County College.

The Vikings took game one 11-3, closing out the game in the bottom of the 6th with a grand slam.  Samantha Zeruth (Bangor, PA/Bangor) was 3 for 3 with a double, Bri Barr (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) was 2 for 3 with 1 RBI and Taylor Domenech (Bangor, PA/Bangor) was 1 for 2 with a RBI as the Spartans totaled 9 hits.

In game two, Northampton and Ocean were tied 8-8 going into the bottom of the 6th, but the Vikings exploded for 4 runs and held on for a 12-8 victory.  Amber Farnholtz (Northampton, PA /Northampton ) was 3 for 4, Bri Barr (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame - Green Pond) and Rachel Bard (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty ) each had 2 hits and MacKenzie Caffrey (Easton, PA/Pleasant Valley ) had 2 RBI as the Spartans combined for 12 hits.

Northampton, which misses the regional playoffs for the first time, finishes the season with a record of 9-17 overall and 5-13 in Region XIX.  

Ocean improves to 17-9 overall and 13-5 in Region XIX.
