BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The County College of Morris, a NJCAA Division II member, swept a doubleheader over host Northampton in softball on Monday afternoon, winning game one 11-2 and game two 4-1.
In game one,
MacKenzie Caffrey (Easton, PA/Pleasant Valley ) took the loss on the mound, going 4 innings allowing 7 hits, 5 earned runs and striking out 4. Â Caffrey added a stolen base, Northamton Athlete of the Week
Amanda Decker (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) finished 1 for 2 with a walk and
Kiley Kuchar (Bangor, PA/Bangor ) had a RBI as the Spartans fell 11 to 2.
In game two Kuchar took the loss, going 7 innings, allowing 5 hits, 3 earned runs and walking 4. Â Kuchar finished 2 for 3 at the plate, including a double, while
Samantha Zeruth (Bangor, PA/Bangor) was 1 for 3 with a RBI.
Northampton falls to 0-6 overall with the two losses, while Morris improves to 10-6 overall.
The Spartans return to the diamond on Wednesday when they are set to host Division II Mercer County Community College at 3:30pm.Â
