Montgomery Tops Northampton 3-2 in Women's Soccer

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Julie Primavera scored what proved to be the game winner 4 minutes into the second half as the Montgomery Mustangs defeated Northampton 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon in a Region XIX Women's Soccer matchup.

Montgomery struck first, scoring just 7 minutes into the contest, but Laura Sarria (Easton, PA/Notre Dame Green Pond) tied the contest 21 mintues later.  The Mustangs retook the lead on a Marisa Christensen goal, but Leyna Motyka (Northamtpon, PA/Northampton ) tied the game 3 minutes later at 2-2.  The teams remained tied at halftime, before Primavera's goal early in the second half. 

The Mustangs outshot Northampton 26 to 10, with Spartan goalkeeper Christina Sheetz (Bethlehem, PA /Freedom) making 15 saves. 

The Spartans, 1-5-0, host Raritan Valley Community College on Thursday at 3:30pm.
