BLUE BELL, Pa. - The Northampton Softball team swept Montgomery County Community College on Wednesday afternoon in a Region XIX doubleheader, winning 12-0 and 9-4, at the Bach Softball Complex.
GAME ONE (Won 12-0)Alexis Lobb (Reading, PA/Muhlenberg Sr. High) was 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored, a double and 2 walks, while
Kailee Dube (Milford, PA/Delaware Valley ) was 2 for 3 with a walk and 4 RBI to pace Northampton.
Sierra Flurer (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth ) earned the victory in the circle, striking out 6 in picking up her 5th win of the season.
GAME TWO (Won 9-4)Mackenzie Caffrey (Easton, PA /Pleasant Valley) earned the win in game two, striking out two and allowing 3 earned runs. Lobb was 4 for 5 with a triple, double and 2 singles, 3 runs scored and 1 RBI.
Miranda Youngkin (Easton, PA /Easton ) was 4 for 5 with 2 RBI,
Samantha ZeRuth (Bangor, PA/Bangor ) scored 2 runs and
Amanda DeHart (Easton, PA /Easton ) was 3 for 4.
Northampton, which received votes in the NJCAA Division III national poll last week, improved to 7-2-1 overall, 7-2 in Region XIX and 4-0 in conference.
Montgomery falls to 1-15 overall, 0-14 in Region XIX and 0-2 in EPAC play.
The Spartans are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Edison, NJ to face Middlesex in a Region XIX doubleheader vs. the Colts at 3:30pm.
