BLUE BELL, Pa. - Abby Dempsey (Bangor, PA /Faith Christian ) scored 3 goals and Laura Sarria (Easton, PA /Notre Dame - Green Pond ) added 2 as the Northampton women's soccer team earned a Region XIX victory with a 5-0 win over Montgomery County Community College on Thursday afternoon at Bach Field. 

The Spartans took a 3-0 lead to the locker room at halftime and added two more tallies in the second half, with Samantha Borrell (Brodheadsville, PA /Faith Christian ) and Olivia Kelly (Milford, PA /Delaware Valley ) each picking up an assist. Melissa Schnappauf (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) made 7 saves to earn her second shutout of the season. 

"Overall good effort today," commented Head Coach Scott Cullen, "I thought we did a good job connecting passes from our back line to our strikers ... we seemed to do a better job with possession today and taking our time to find open teammates."

The win moves Northampton to 2-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in Region XIX. 

The Spartans travel to Lehigh Carbon Community College on Saturday for a 12pm matchup with the Cougars.
